The pages in this site can be edited and developed as the group sees fit, The premise behind this site use relates to collation, curation of research information, collaboration, communication and co creation using a virtual project team model. Helping each other filter information to inform the design of the digital content artifact (the outcome of this project) is timely and worth exploring now.

The issues related to digital content design and issues of accessibility are outlined here in this 2010 research. The quote below highlights one of the rationales for including this group activity for the DC_LP participants.
"The research identified significant variations in the accessibility of the reviewed learning resources and their level of compliance with current accessibility guidelines, WCAG 1.0. Given that the VET sector provides a consistent message about WCAG 1.0 adherence the variable compliance is probably due to the different development environments and variations in skill level and technical knowledge of those producing the materials. Some resources are prepared by highly skilled professional web developers, others by teams whose skills are being fostered and others are prepared by teachers who are keen to share their materials but may not know what is required to make web content accessible."
The reality in TAFE is that more and more VET practitioners are attempting/need to be creative and develop innovative resources quickly and easily to add value to their blended learning activties and work practices They are not always familiar with standards etc unless they are advised and or work with other experts in this area.

REALITY: THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH EXPERTS/SUPPORT TEAMS AT SOME TAFE INSTITUTES so ensuring that information is simple and easy to understand FOR THE ON THE GROUND VET practitioner is vital. What are the key things people need to know and how do we get these simple messages across?
